Born and raised in Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico, Miguel immigrated to Santa Barbara at the age of 16. While supporting his family, he learned English and studied hotel and restaurant management at Santa Barbara City College. After 20 years in the restaurant industry and a short stint in farming technology, Miguel joined RE/MAX Santa Barbara in 2005. In 2009, he earned Rookie of the Year before transferring to Sterling Properties and has now been at Pacific Crest Realty since 2015 where he enjoys helping clients pursue the dream of home ownership. 

In 1994, Miguel founded the Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2019, he co-founded the new and improved Santa Barbara Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to continue assisting the Hispanic business community.

Miguel is a founding member of the Santa Barbara Mariachi Festival, the Board for Leadership of Santa Barbara County, and was named a Santa Barbara County Distinguished Leader. Miguel also currently serves as president of Friends of Woni Kenya International, Inc. He has supported at least ten additional non-profit boards and organizations in our community and was named a 1996 “Local Hero” by the Santa Barbara Independent. Miguel is the proud father of two daughters and enjoys being an active community member.
